I use mobile 3g broadband set up in network manager and my question is, why doesn't Ubuntu fetch the DNS servers from my IPS? the default working DNS server is 4.2.2.1 which works very well but only after working hours or weekends during daytime the internet is very slow so I have been using the opendns 208.67.222.222 which is quite good but now I have discovered my IPS DNS server and it's even better.
So I don't understand why Ubuntu cant fetch and use the IPS servers
it's because of simple things like this that people say Windows just works!
thanks

It sounds like your ISP isn't handing out DNS servers along with the rest of the DHCP information.

I'd suggest just manually entering your favorite DNS servers and using them.

really? and ubuntu assigns one then (4.2.2.1) is this how it works?
my IPS surely hands out DNS because it works in windows!

I'd suggest just manually entering your favorite DNS servers and using them
thats what I have been doing, but I don't like it I prefer things work the way they should.
