View Full Version : [SOLVED] Why did it get so ugly?

I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my Desktop computer. I was getting pretty happy with it until the Update Manager crashed. It was in the process of updating F-Spot Photo Viewer when it froze and my cursor disappeared. I waited about 25-30 minutes just to make sure there wasn't some kind of delay and that it really did freeze up. When I came back and it was still at the same place I restarted my computer. I've since fixed the problem with F-Spot and my Update Manager, but how do I get the main menu panel back to it's beautiful dark gray look?

What kind of fail would produce such a thing? It looks terrible.

Note: Selecting other themes also does not change the top menu bar; even that hideous high contrast large font theme. *shivers*

try using synaptic to reinstall "light-themes".

This appears to have solved the problem after a restart. Thank you. :)

Hi,

if it ever happens again, go to a terminal:

gnome-settings-daemon

I personally think it's hideous myself, but I can see some people matching it to their theme like my friend did....and theme is butt ugly.
