OpenLdap problems

I am trying to install and configure openldap. and I followed this tutorial to the letter:

however after I input the line:

ldapadd -x -D cn=admin,dc=home,dc=com -W -f /tmp/base.ldif
and enter the password I am met with the error

Ldap_bind: invalid credentials (49)

I have looked around a bit but cannot find a solution to my problem please help!

I am somewhat of a newbie so go easy on me please!
