Hello,
I want to format my Linux partitions then re-install. I have a few questions, please.
1. Presumably I should upgrade to 10.04 from 9.10 - there is no reason not to?
2. Gparted shows me that I have an almost full ext3 partition, an unused swap partition, a bunch of unallocated space, and my XP partition.
I want to create a new ext3 partition which is larger and therefore includes some of the unallocated space. What is the best and safest way to do this (after backing up, of course)? Do I format the ext3 then boot from the .iso and (I vaguely remember this) the boot loader allows me to create a partition of the type (ext3) and size that I desire. Does this allow me to merge my existing ext3 and unallocated partitions?
3. Do I need a swap file?
Thanks!
