Hey all,

Had a look around and found a few things similair to my problem, with solves I'm going to try, but nothing the same.

I had netbook ubuntu installed but wanted to change to mint or normal ubuntu, so unistalled by deleting the partition from within windows7 disk management...I know it's probably the wrong way and the reason for the fault now. After that I've been trying to run mint/ubuntu using a liveUSB and they both freeze on the splash screen(logo with dots under) when loading up and forces a reboot, which never happened before. Same happens with other distros. I'm assuming it's something to do with the grub maybe.

Any help would be appreciated, be aware I'm not what you would call an advanced user.

Cheers

You could try starting the distros using the methods mentioned here:

I also suggest you run a chkdsk from Windows 7 (assuming you can still boot into it normally?).
