(Reposted from the mailing list and web site)

Ubuntu-za is up for re-approval as listed on the agenda of the LoCo Council (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoCouncil/Agenda) for Tuesday, 3 August 2010 at 21:00 SAST. The meeting will be held in #ubuntu-meeting on IRC (freenode.net (http://freenode.net/)). Approved teams are eligible for certain benefits and are also considered officially by the Ubuntu project. The criteria for re-approval is the same as for approval which is outlined on the getting approved instructions (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoGettingApproved).

The ubuntu-za team was first approved in 2005 and got re-approval on 10 November 2008.

Whether you are an experienced Linux user or you are just getting started (http://ubuntu-za.org/get-started) with open-source software, there are lots of ways to get involved (http://ubuntu-za.org/get-involved) with our ubuntu communities.

In order to keep our official LoCo status we need all the support we can get, a big turnout at the meeting always helps. Talk to us at any time on IRC at #ubuntu-za or on the mailing list (http://ubuntu-za.org/mailing%20list) and let us know if you have more information to add on our re-approval application page (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ZATeam/ReApprovalApplication).

Be there!
