Hi guys im new to Ubuntu and im still experimenting with a lot of customizable things you can do with it.

I just today heard the concept of us plash themes and i looked for some in gnome-look.com

I don't know how to install them but:

I would like to know how do you install this specific theme http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Equilibrium+USPLASH+_update+for+intrepid?content=7 9783 (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Equilibrium+USPLASH+_update+for+intrepid?content=7 9783)

And how to install other us plash themes in the future.

Hope that any guy that hits this forum from Google could find any information from the replies useful.

Thank you.

Sincerely Gabriel.

And something new i got is that;
I got to the synaptics pack manager and i search for usplash.

Usplash appears and i mark it for installation, then some stuff appears that need to be removed like amsn (dont know why) then it tries to load and it soons gets and error that says:

COULD NOT MARK ALL PACKAGES FOR INSTALLATION OR UPGRADE.

The following packages have unresolvable dependencies.
Make sure that all require repositories are added and enabled in the preferences.

Reccomends: Usplash-theme-ubuntu.

I tried to install that to but it gets the same error to.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Since 10.04 Usplash isn't used any more, so you can't use those themes. 10.04 and later use Plymouth instead.

Many ways to go about doing this. I used the method from this site http://www.ubuntugeek.com/startup-manager-change-settings-in-grub-grub2-and-usplash.html

But there are several others.

Remember Google is your friend.

Plymouth is USplash's replacement. It is already running.
Just get some themes for it. Have a look on google for themes and how to install them.
