I've got Ubuntu 10.04 and its running great.
My problem though is that my pc no longer responds to F8, which,
before Grub 2 was installed, would open Windows XP in Safe Mode.
I think what I want to do is to add a Safe Mode to my 40_custom file.
If this is the appropriate thing to do then please tell me the content of that
entry; otherwise, what do you advise?
Aside. I see that many posts are concerned with Grub 2.
I have found, after reading several, that drs305's post,
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1195275,
is the best guide to Grub 2 that I've seen.
I would also suggest that a novice like me should begin
by reading the section "Building a Totally Customized Menu",
p. 5 or so of the guide, and then read the guide from its beginning
with purpose of understanding this section.
Anyway, I'm grateful for any time you can give me. Warm regards Randy.
