I've been using Ubuntu as my Sole OS for almost a year now, loving every minute of it. I configured it to my needs, as many do, but funny as it might sound I've only recently started to use 'Linux', I've been using the shell more and more, and I've only just realized my computers full potential.

What I'm looking for is a community like this one, only one that will put up with my noob Linux ???'s.

Any good recommendations?

Thanks.

Now, that's funny... If you let me sit in front of a computer running Linux (don't really care what distro), the first thing I would do is to bring up a terminal because I can do more from a terminal and from the brainless clicking thing!!! ;)

I have messed around with linux distro's, even paying for "CNR" in Linspire. Ubuntu forums have been the most helpfull and noob friendly I have experienced.
I agree fully, the terminal is incredible and fun.
I should have kept count on the amount of re-installs.
Lots of patient humans holding your hand. Enjoy Linux

I'm a half noob half intermediate linux user and I haven't been stressed on the forums too much like some others, I could probably take all the noob questions easily without getting frustrated

noobs are always welcome

Ok, Ok, I get the message!:D

I just thought that folk here might get a little fed-up with 'General' linux questions as opposed to Ubuntu-oriented ones.

Obviously not.

I know this is a great place, I'm here most days, now I'm really going to test your collective patience's :D

PS. Thanks to dreams for those links.

If you don't feel comfortable asking questions anywhere here you can post them in th Absolute Beginner Talk section, http://www.ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=73

Alternatively post them anywhere here. I would advise you to properly define your question and post all relevant information on your problem, this ensures you will get a proper response. Also try and use the search facility here before you post, people will be more willing to help when they see you are trying to help yourself first.

Some interesting reading about possible pet peeves & general opinions;

Generally this forum is pretty mellow & laid back I must say ;)

As long as you ask specific questions and avoid vague "I'm a newbie. Please help!"-style questions, it's all good.
