Off the top of my head: Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.

On second thought, the first two movies of the blood and ice cream trilogy were pretty hilarious too - looking forward to the third one!

Thats a hard one, there are so many.... but the funniest "scene" I ever saw was "naked asian guy jumping out of the trunk" in The Hangover. I think I peed a little on that one :)

Galaxy Quest (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0177789/)! (also hilarious is the "deleted scene" in the engine room).

Monthe Python is high up on the list too. Life of Brian I think.

Nice thread btw!

It depends. If you asked that question 20 years ago I would say Hot Shots! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102059/) or Weekend at Bernie's (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098627/) and 30 years ago I would say Airplane (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080339/)! or Monty Python's movies, but I guess I wouldn't laugh so much with those movies now.

Today I would say "Big Trouble (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246464/)". Also like 'Dogma (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120655/)", "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373469/)" and "There's Something About Mary (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0129387/)".

Spaceballs

Jay and SIlent Bob Strike Back

Mallrats (anything by Kevin Smith really)

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Life of Brian was pretty funny, too.

The funniest book I've ever read is The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Rhinehart).

Harold Lloyd, Safety Last

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEcTjhUN_7U

It was the context in which I saw this silent movie classic. With 2500 other people in a concert hall with an orchestra in the pit performing the music that had been composed for the film originally.

Imagine 2500 people helpless with laughter for 90 minutes. Maybe the laughter therapy people have got it right after all

I can't find some of the best visual gags on YouTube...

Cheers

Monty Python would certainly be up there but some of the funniest movies i`ve watched have been the old black & white classics. Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Laurel & Hardy etc.
Some of those guys were absolute daredevils into the bargain.

Has your tastes matured? The thing about the Airplane or Police Squad (Zucker) movies is they mocked TV shows/movies of the time. The humor is lost because the reference is gone.

Has your tastes matured?

Sure. But the problem I guess is that I have watched so many movies in my life, that is hard to find something that really surprises me nowadays. I haven't seen a really good new movie for a while.

Perhaps.

BTW, there are some really funny TV series that I like. For instance, "The Big Bang Theory", "Worst Week", "Modern Family" and "Two and a Half Men".

Rat Race

The thing about the Airplane or Police Squad (Zucker) movies is they mocked TV shows/movies of the time. The humor is lost because the reference is gone.

That's not true. They're still hilarious even if you don't know anything about the shows/movies they mocked. You may lose a little bit of the humor, but they're still hilarious.

Por Mis Pistolas staring Cantiflas. in 60 years of watching movies this is the funniest. It is in Spanish, but you don't need to speak Spanish to be rolling on the floor.

I don't think any movie has made me laugh so loud so often as Noises Off.

From what I have read if I had of seen the original stage play, I would have been disappointed by the movie, as the play is apparently one of the best ever.
