I have a HP dv6646us laptop running ubuntu 10.04 and trying to use brother MFC-290C printer. I am new to Linux
I downloaded the drivers from brother website and the extracted the files, in SCRIPT directory I did the following
$ sudo ./cupswrappermfc290c
After I did the above I got the following:
ERROR : Brother LPD filter is not installed.
chmod: cannot access `/usr/local/Brother/Printer/mfc290c/inf/brmfc290crc': No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access `/usr/local/Brother/Printer/mfc290c/inf': No such file or directory
* Restarting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd
Please Help me.
