I started using EXT4 for a very long time. The diskcheck on boot nearly always finds errors and fixes them.

I never had data loss until now. Suddenly the system froze. I did a hard-reset and when i booted the check detected lots of errors. It failed to fix. When I rebooted Grub was gone. I booted a live cd and discovered that the my root partition was blank! I have lost ALL my data!

Judging by responses, I guess that my problem is due to the Hardware testing I perform sometimes that causes the PC to freeze. I did read an article saying EXT4 was vulnerable to data loss in an improper shutdown than EXT3.

Nope. I've run two EXT4 systems since it was released as stable, and I've yet to have any corruption. How old is your hard drive?

I get the disk checks on all my computers that is 27 different hard drives. Usually its just a small fix. I think it may be due to the freeze that everything was lost.

Nope, not me. (Well, I did have some problems once but that was a hardware issue...)
