My PC config is as follows:
ASRock P4i45GV with onboard graphics and audio
Intel Pentium 4 1.6 GHz. processor
512 MB DDR RAM
120 GB HDD
GeForce FX5200 AGP card

I have tried installing Ubuntu 10.04 (which was sent to me by post by ubuntu) and initially I can see a small icon at the bottom centre of the screen after which the many lines of texts appear with one error code 0X73/0X80

I then disabled my AGP and tried installing with my onboard graphics and the installation did begin but however somewhere in between some vertical lines kept blinking on the screen after which a msg told me about running on low graphics but still the installation did not continue.

How do I solve this? Please give a solution preferably with my GeForce card and please do not give me the text mode mumbo jumbo as i am a new to ubuntu and linux.

with 512 mb ram you might install a light distro like xubuntu
