I see civilization 5 is up for preorder, even though the minimum requirements have not been released. My question is offering a preorder before specifiying requirements disrespectful to customers?

Yes, very disrespectful!

Not really, it means people who're sure they'll be able to run it can go ahead and pre-order. It's not a twitch game, min requirements won't be insane, and strategy games are perfectly playable with the settings wound down. I play Civ3 on a netbook, and it's fine.
I've pre-ordered, on pure faith that it's better than Civ4 *crosses fingers*

Civilization has never been a very taxing game. Why would it matter? Civ 4 has run on my last 3 computers, all ran really well.

If they never tell you what the requirements are that wouldn't be fair. But if you're concerned, just wait for the requirements and buy it later.

why preorder anyway? this isn't an iPhone, I'm beting if one place doesn't have 400 other places will.

yeah I don't expect my netbook to run it, but my PC with a Nvidia 8600GT will run it just fine.

But you also have to assume that the company that made the trailer/promo video has the best system money can afford with maximum graphics settings.
