hi, i noticed that some of the games i want to play do not run well on my system... and i looked somewhere and heard someone say that if hardware acceleration is not enabled then it will not run well...

my graphics are by intel
965 express chipset family (aka X3100)

and everything i came across didnt really help my particular display driver or graphics maker

any ideas how i can enable it?

intel graphics should be enabled by default. are you sure you haven't just got a system that cant handle those games?

that might be it, but in windows xp i have hardware acceleration and i dont really understand how i dont have it with ubuntu

plus i dont see a lot of posted system requirements for a lot of linux/ubuntu games...

i cant even play one of the games that came with this distro of ubuntu.... quadrapassel cause apparently it needs hardware acceleration

my system isnt even 2 yrs old
