I want a small ubuntu log sticker in the new branding style to go alongside the small "core i3" and "windows 7" stickers on mi laptop.

Can't seem to find any, the ubuntu store only has old style.

<EDIT>
Or better still, a TASTEFUL linux badge. Most definitely without the stupid penguin.

System 76 gives out free stickers here: http://www.system76.com/article_info.php?articles_id=9

They give you 8 stickers total. Four are metallic "Powered by Ubuntu" stickers, and the other four are black and white Ubuntu logos to put over the windows logo on your keyboard.

You could always get the eps or svg of those images and take them to a vinyl cutter.

Maybe not

That sucks. Luckily I downloaded it a while ago. If anyone wants the file send me your email in a PM. It had loads of stickers that you could print off. It's about 9.4 MB and in .pdf format.

I was looking at getting some to replace the Windows stickers on my laptop. It's a shame shipping costs more than the actual item. Not really to keen on spending $25NZ just for a few sheets.

Excellent (sort of).
Unfortunately, I am about 95% certain to be moving away from ubuntu to another distro in the next few days so an ubuntu sticker on me laptop will be wrong.

Back to searching for penguin-less linux case stickers :)

That penguin is awesome! What animal would you pick for Linux then?

It's not just the penguin in itself, it's just the look of the logo and it has been exactly the same for about 10 years that I know of.
It needs a makeover, or some funky snazzy logo.

You see the apple logo and you know exactly what it is and what it's about.
You see the windows logo and you know exactly what it is and what it's about.
You see the linux logo and you think "I want a chocolate biscuit"

I mean, even many individual distros have instantly recognisable logos, anyone with even the slightest knowledge of linux knows the redhat or ubuntu logos but the penguin is just... a penguin.

When I mention linux to people with very little knowledge of it many still fob it off as an uber geek thing with images of scrolling text and having to be a sys admin just to get a mouse to work.
C'mon linux, get with the times. It can be the greatest operating system in the world but it needs up to date marketing.
Look at ubuntu, it's image has done more for it than the distro itself, even if that isn't always a good thing (ubuntu sometimes seems more about image than anything) it gets it noticed and makes people WANT to try it.
