Thunderbird add-on for importing from Live Mail

Would anyone have a recommendation for a Thunderbird extension or add-on for importing e-mail from Live Mail?

I have a dual installation of win7 & Ubuntu 10.04. Ultimately, I want to import my e-mail archive into Thunderbird on the Ubuntu partition. For the transition, I have both Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail on the win7 side. I'm running Thunderbird 3.0.6, though I could upgrade.

I found this site (https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html), but I'm a bit shy, as the directions are a little funky.

Other ideas?

Actually, I successfully downloaded and installed the Thunderbird extension from that nic-nac site, but it doesn't work. That is, I succeeded in importing a bunch of empty folders.

I've had good luck getting help on the Ubuntu forum, but if nobody notices this one, I'll try the Dunderbird forum.
