just saw this.

I mean, how can they use it when it just plain sucks on linux?
And it is non-free software too.

What's Fubuntu? What does it do? What do they use it for?

it's Fake Ubuntu built in flash.

So,I guess they use it for (video)mockups.

How do you know?

Or maybe it's for a 'See what ubuntu feels like' webpage.

That sounds more likely. The main reason they'd use Flash is because of its penetration, almost everyone has Flash installed on their computer. Also if that's the case people using "Fake Ubuntu" are probably more likely to be Windows users.

What exactly does it say? I don't see much information about what "Fubuntu" is.

"Fake Ubuntu built in Flash." -- top left corner
i.e. exactly what ssj6akshat said.

But you're right, it doesn't say much else.

It's worth knowing what this is before I can get angry about it. :P

Who say they are using it on Linux? Who cares if it's non-free software? It's for their internal use, most likely for creating mockups (I don't see what else they could be using it for).

Did you know that Canonical designers use Photoshop to create artwork for ubuntu.com and parts of Ubuntu?
The new Ubuntu font is designed on Windows.

I think it's a joke... at least I hope so.

It's not. Mark Shuttleworth (and Canonical) have no problem with using proprietary software.

If you make for yourself the mission to learn others to talk.. meanwhile they only can communicate through gestures... You can't expect to success if you don't know/use the gesture language.

I dont have a problem with using proprietary or non-free software.....I think the idea of software ownership as its applies today SUCKS, but that doesnt mean that people who use it are bad and deserve to be bashed......the contrary, opposition to intellectual property is on the basis that people should have the freedom to use whatever best suits their needs rather than to stiffle innovation....I dont care if Ubuntu uses some proprietary stuff.....in fact, I wish they included medibuntu in Multiverse.
