Hi
I am a newbie to Ubuntu. Whenever I try to uninstall VLC, I get an error:
E: vlc-data: unable to securely remove '/usr/share/locale/ne/LC_MESSAGES/vlc.mo'
Also when I try to install the recent update of 'dpkg', the system tells me that a package is "Broken". I go to the Synaptic package manager and Edit>Fix Broken Packages. But this doesn't seem to solve the issue. I think vlc-data is the broken package and therefore i want to uninstall it.
Also when i try to reinstall it through Synaptic, then in the details i get:
"A package failed to reinstall, trying to recover"
and the following error message:
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/vlc-data_1.0.6-1ubuntu1.1_all.deb: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/locale/ne/LC_MESSAGES', which is also in package xdg-user-dirs 0
Please help.
