I want to begin helping with the 'testing' of the development version of ubuntu 10.10. I have never used ANY alpha or beta software before, except firefox (once by mistake really). I need some good guides on how to get started. I have a launchpad account but truthfully don't know how to use it.

Currently I am using Karmic 9.10 on my primary desktop machine, I have a live CD of 10.04, and a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop running an older version of Linux Mint (which I can overwrite) mostly used for web surfing and e-mail, which I will use for testing.

The first thing I would suggest you do is read the stickies (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=385) in the Maverick Testing and Discussion forum. The read some of the threads to see what type of problems you will run into.

Alpha 3 will be released Aug 5th, so that would be a good time to start.
