Just purchased a 15in macbook pro. I do a lot of commuting on my bike, therefore, I am constantly braving the elements. Rain, heat, snow and traffic. I want a laptop bag thats going to outlast me if I go down if you know what I am saying.

I have looked at some laptop backpacks (http://www.codidirect.com/laptop-bags-laptop-cases/checkpoint-friendly/ct3checkpoint-testedtri-pak.html) from CODi - heard their stuff is made with ballistic nylon. Not sure about its waterproofing.

Any thoughts / suggestions? Thanks in advance:

I own a laptop backpack from Timbuk2 and love it. You can even design your own bag on their website, including size, colors, and fabric (including the ballistic nylon or waterproof fabrics).

Their site is here (http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/products/laptop/)

A Macbook Pro? I doubt it needs the best protection in the world. My uncle once dropped his macbook pro 4 feet onto concrete. Quarter-inch dent in one corner, no effect. Then a couple weeks ago it went flying literally ten feet. OK, it got an impressive crumple and it turned out the CD driver broke, but the thing is still fundamentally OK. I would think any half-decent laptop bag would make it invincible.

Most laptops are just as strong as Zorgoth said so I would choose a Targus case. Mines lasted 4 years without wear and tear so far.

You may also want to check backpacks made from CORDURA blend of nylon. The fabric is exceptionally strong and widely used for making backpacks and luggage that are tough and long lasting. See if you like this laptop backpack (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/productDetail.aspx?id=Glide-Backpack_VB414) from Briggs & Riley. It’s made from CORDURA and is lightweight, abrasion resistant, and water repellant.
