Emotiv apparently has created a headset (reasonably affordable too at only $300) that allows you control what the computer does. There is a demo of it in use on TED.com.

and you can purchase it (if your interested in doing so) at the company's website: http://www.emotiv.com/

Just thought I'd share this.

Page not Found.

Bought the kids a toy last Christmas that allowed mind control of an electric motor. Pretty bizarre to see that in action.

This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826100006&Tpk=nueral%20impulse%20actuator) has been on the market for awhile and does the exact same thing. I was thinking the product you mentioned was more of a breakthrough, but it doesn't seem to be.

I wish it would work great in GIMP, there always seems to be a loss of quality in what I do from the transition from my brain to my hand.

With my luck I'd buy something like that, and during the install process:

INSTALLATION NOT COMPLETED.
HUMAN RESOURCE HAS INSUFFICIENT CPU SPEED.
PLEASE UPGRADE HUMAN TO SERVICE PACK IV AND REINSTALL.

:lolflag:

I have seen something similar years ago that was being developed on a research facility, but the device had to be implanted on the top of the head surgically. Obviously it wasn't intended for gamers, but for persons with serious motor disabilities.

Anyway, that thing is really cool.

No not really the new-egg is more primitive. With this one you can actually have it respond to actual thoughts (after training it to do so of course) the newegg it reads muscle movement only essentially.

I've emailed the company just waiting for a reply...So in the mean time party at lovinglinux's house! :p

I want one. It would totally eliminate fingerprints from touch screens. Not to mention my mouse would be no more.

Wonder if it can function better with a higher IQ?

I can control my computer with my mind...

I think don't touch the power switch and it does not come on.

I can control mine through my mind too. Whenever it crashes, I think about kicking the living daylights out of it and my foot mysteriously kicks the damn thing. :guitar::guitar:
