I just stumbled upon this http://everygui.sourceforge.net/index.html

Sounds like an interesting and ambitious project. Overall, I like the developer's idea.

You mean every graphical file manager ever isn't good enough? PCManFM is pretty much exactly what you describe: a front-end for file operations. Nautilus, Dolphin, Thunar, EmelFM, MC, etc, etc... all do essentially that too.

Unless you were being sarcastic and I just missed it. In that case, well-said.
