Hey All,
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 on my trusty Dell Latitude D610. It's been running very well since 10.04 was released, but yesterday I restarted the system and now I cannot login.
The system boots into the gdm environment and it looks fine at that point. However, when any of the users login it looks like gdm restarts -- the screen reverts to text mode for a second, and then the login screen is presented again.
If you tell me which logs I need to post (parts of), I'll post, but otherwise I don't know what else to check.
Also, I am not getting a grub menu so I can't boot to single-user mode. As a result, I don't know how to run fsck to check for file issues because the partitions are mounted.
Thanks,
