Quad monitors - Panels obscure app windows

Hello Everybody,
I recently got Quad monitors working (I wish I could keep my compiz, but alas I cannot find a way. But if anyone does know a way, please tell me!). I can live without compiz, but one thing I cannot live without is the problem I am having. Here is the basic layout of my screens:

The problem that I am having is that if I maximize a window on monitor 1 or 2, either panel 3 or panel 4 (respectively) cover up the bottom of the window (such as the notification bar in firefox, screenshot below). Same goes with maximizing a window of monitors 3 & 4, but this time panels 5 & 6 cover up the title bar (also in the screenshot). If anybody could help me with a workaround that would be great!
