My Ubuntu 9.10 on a Dell X1 laptop has been very stable. Now that 10.04 has been out for a while, can I upgrade with a reasonable chance of success?

Thanks....Lyle

It works great on my laptop (hp dv6000, intel centrino, nvidia gforce), but occasionally hangs up on my desktop. I would say go for it because it's still more reliable on my desktop than win7 or xp.

It has worked flawlessly since day 1 on my Dell Studio 17. If you're dual-booting, then read the other forum posts and the stickies about it.

Everyone's install experience is different, but 10.04 upgraded perfectly and starts up very quickly.

Thanks for the positive reports.

When 10.04 came out, wasn't there a "sticky" post at the top of this forum that was a survey of upgrade experiences?

Yes there was - it's here: http://uri.tl/d

I initially thought that 10.04 was causing problems with my CD-ROM drive, because every time I pressed the capacitive eject button, the drive would go berserk. A BIOS update fixed it though - which may be an idea for you, since you're upgrading a Dell too.
