Android myTouch Slide phone

Hi Ya'll,
I just picked up a new phone today, old one had it. So, it is a T-mobile Android myTouch Slide. Can I make it connect to my Ubuntu to do anything useful? Easily, without rebuilding it and partitioning it and all that other craziness that we sometimes go through to make things play nice.
