I had dream one night (not that long ago actually) where I fought with the devil 3 times & won each round. Even though I tore his heart out once he still survived & was no weaker.

I had reinforced by that dream that the negative aspects are as eternal as everything else (including us).

& that the best attitude to engender in myself is the one that the lyrics in the following old Eric Clapton song epitomises:

Hello Old Friend
by Eric Clapton

As I am strolling down the garden path,
I saw a flower glowing in the dark.
It looked so pretty and it was unique;
I had to bend down just to have a peek.

Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.
Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.

I saw you walking underneath the stars;
I couldn't stop 'cause I was in a car.
I'm sure the distance wouldn't be too far
If I got out and walked to where you are.

Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.
Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.

An old man passed me on the street today;
I thought I knew him but I couldn't say.
I stopped to think if I could place his frame.
When he tipped his hat I knew his name.

Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.
Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.

Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.
Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.

My all-time favorite song is "The Touch" by Stan Bush (as featured in the 1986 "Transformers: The Movie"). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQIbnKFIsVo (in a fan-made music video featuring my current favorite TV show, Smallville, although to be honest, I think they could have done a better job with the video).

However, "The One and Only" by Chesney Hawkes has long been my personal theme song (if such a thing exists). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_r0oQE5jEU (original music video)

Just yesterday I found this gem to add to my existing collection of soulful music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yRgiXh2fP4
(Caribbean Blue by Enya)

Enya is my new favourite for Blues! Although I loved her music in Gladiator too, but didn't notice her by name then.
