Hoping someone can help me with this.
Got a new dell 3007wfp 30" monitor that has a native resolution of 2560x1600. I have a elitebook 8530w with a Quadro FX 770M graphics card. I can not get it to work when hooking it up through the docking station with the dual dvi output. When connecting it the screen on the monitor does some squirlly rainbow color thing at the top of the screen but nothing else. This was with Ubuntu 9.10 and after upgrading to 10.04 (32-bit). Using Nvidia Driver Version 256.35. Note - external output works flawlessly with samsung syncmaster 24 in" monitor at 1920x1200.

Did you get this to work ever? I am in the same boat but with an HP 30"

Cheers,

a coworker and I were debugging this and discovered that his 30 inch dell - same monitor make and model worked fine with my laptop - both monitors worked fine with his mac - we swapped cables back and forth, etc. no issues with cable - only thing we could think of was the refresh rate on the one monitor was slightly off from the factory but the mac did not have an issue with it so we wound up trading monitors.

Wow, that sensitive, huh? Well, I will try the very same thing tomorrow. Thanks a bunch for getting back to me.
