Hi,

I want to test the new firefox beta 4. But at the same time I want my stable 3.6.6 also working intact with all my settings and 'plugins'.

Can anyone tell me how to install 4.0 while preserving 3.6.6 with the choice of using either one whenever I want?

Thanks in advance.

Just install it from the ppa. It won't affect your other versions. It is quick but I still prefer chrome.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I knew the link which you have pasted from ubuntu-geek but I was unsure if it would replace the current firefox..
Everyone has his own opinion. I like firefox because I find Chrome too elementary. Firefox is the customization guru. Moreover, I have used both of them and though Chrome is faster but not so shockingly fast as if it was out of this world. I feel speed is mainly determined by one's ISP. Therefore, I like a browser that offers convenience-Firefox.
But yes everybody has his/her own preferences which are perfectly fine.

I want exactly the opposite. I want to replace the 3.6 version completely. But it seems impossible.
