Hello and welcome to Ubuntu,

I'm guessing you set up the cube via CompizConfig settings manager?
To get more sides, you need to go back to CompizConfig manager, and select "General Options". Then at the top, the last tab is called "Desktop Size". To make it a cube, you would need to set the horizontal virtual size to 4

Hope this helps!

There are a lot of youtube tutorials for Compiz and the cube, etc. and there are more settings than you can believe in there!
Knowing how to set them is the trick.
I have mine all setup like I never imagined... It is amazing!

Indeed lol, I don't have a bottom panel as I have a dock, so I forgot exactly what the options are.

The bottom panel should appear when you do a mouse over even if it is hidden...

Unless you've removed it...

I did this so that I wouldn't have the panel at the bottom over lapping the dock if my mouse went to the very bottom. Kind of bothered me athetically to have it appear out of no where and cover my dock.

Here's a question - which doc do you prefer? Docky, AWN, Cairo-dock, or something else?

I ran AWN for a short time, but couldn't get Gnome-DO to work. Now I'm using Docky. I've not tried Cairo-dock yet, but the images I've seen look really nice!

I have Cairo-Dock and it is setup very well with all the special effects. I tried Docky and AWN,
but went back to Cairo-Dock. Just make sure you add all the extras and plugins.
I wondered why I didn't have the fire and some other things and found it was because I
didn't have the extras. In Synaptic I have cairo-dock, cairo-dock-plug-ins-data, cairo-dock-plug-ins, cairo-dock-core,
cairo-dock-data and cairo-dock-plug-ins-integration.
It disappears unless I move my mouse over it when I have FF in full screen, which I like.
And I like the ability to drag and drop apps into it.

And here is a link on how to add the repositories and the key if you need that.

Sweet thanks a bunch for your input Cavsfan! I'll make sure to add those repositories soon. Sounds like Cairo-dock is pretty sweet after all. I have docky fading out so its not overlapping FF. It to will allow you to drag and drop. I have a side bar screenlet going which shows my current stats of my system - wireless strength, ip address (public and private), cpu usage, ram and pf usage. For what ever reason, that shows up in docky as an application running, rather than the screenlet program itself. I would prefer it not to show on the dock at all, as its just a background program and not a full on app. Might try cairo-dock and see if it fixes this.

You are welcome! I have the dock with terminal, FF, Thunderbird email, gedit, calculator, a graphics spot
that has Gimp, Inkscape and F-Spot all in one, and some other usual stuff along with the weather.
All the stuff I use frequently conveniently located in the dock.

Detached on the side I have a nice clock with seconds and a meter with CPU and RAM usage as well
as GPU temperature. Ju wish the temp. would display in F instead of C.
I can't really get used to Celsius, but oh well.

I can touch super and r shift and f and paint fire all over the screen then c clears it.

There are some extra plugins list of which I cannot remember right now. It includes :

Simple Animation
Wizard
Elements
Stackswitch [very cool]
Throw
Newton/gravity
Peek [like windos 7 Aero] etc

One or two were not installed correctly which I did manually [by learning from the contents of the script ;)] and worked perfect or more than that.:D

As it seems that the remote server hund enexpectedly, you may try again later. It was very smooth for me save ones like "Throw" "Newton" etc. Also there is a forum with some name like "php compiz forum" which I do not remember correctly. This is the original forum where the script appeared first. It is sky blue cloured and very useful.

Please search and post the address here if found.
