One of the great things about Open Source Software and the communities that grow up around them is the ability users have to affect the quality and direction of the software. One way users do this is by offering patches to fix bugs. Ubuntu receives a lot of patches by well minded users. Those patches have to be reviewed by a human being. We have scripts which will find bugs with patches, and tag them, but can not decide if it is a good patch or not. That is where you come in.

Operation Cleansweep was started with the goal of making sure that if someone makes the effort to submit a patch it will be reviewed. Unfortunately in the past the number of patches has exceeded the manpower to review them. Operation Cleansweep aims to change this. This effort is leading the way to encourage the community to review these outstanding patches.

How do you get involved? Simple:

Read the Operation cleansweep wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OperationCleansweep)page to get an idea of what we are trying to do.
Read our Reviewers Guide (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReviewersTeam/ReviewGuide)that explains the process of how you review a patch.
Pick a patch from this list (https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.subscriber=ubuntu-reviewers&field.tag=-patch-needswork%20-patch-forwarded-upstream%20-patch-forwarded-debian%20-patch-accepted-upstream%20-patch-accepted-debian%20-patch-rejected-upstream%20-patch-rejected-debian%20-patch-rejected&field.tags_combinator=ALL) to review.
Review it and provide feedback.
Join #ubuntu-reviewers to ask for help.

If you have concerns that patch review is difficult or will take a lot of time, don't. You do not need to be a programmer to get involved in Operation Cleansweep. In as little as 10 minutes you can make a great contribution to a project. Get involved and help make Ubuntu better.
