Removed Konqueror, Now Shutdown button doesnt work

I removed Konqueror and two other packages which had dependencies.
So I removed the following packages.
konqueror
konqueror-plugin-searchbar
kubuntu-konqueror-shortcuts.

Now my Shutdown, Restart buttons doesnt work.

I reinstalled all packages (and more), but of no use. I have to use terminal to shutdown my system.

Note: The buttons work outside KDE 4

just to make sure, KDM is your default desktop manager correct?

if GDM is, you have to logout and then shutdown.

im not sure if that answers your question but this might be it.

KDM is my default session. Neither the shutdown menu nor the logout menu works. I have to go to terminal and type sudo shutdown -P now.
