I've searched for a script/app that would do this, but basically I was wondering if there was something that you could set up to use a specific folder, and either at every login (ie: cronjob) or, better yet, every X minutes, pick a random BG from the folder and set it as the background?

I know there's more involved here, as you can stretch, center, tile etc backgrounds, but maybe use the default setting that you've set up in your prefs and just go with it?

I dunno, figured I'd ask :)

A great program for this is called Desktop Drapes. Here is a description of the program in the Ubuntu Software Center.

Sweet deal man, works awesome!

I think that after you select the folder to monitor via general settings, you have to reboot. I've closed it and nothing yet, so I assume a reboot works. Otherwise, manual import works fine.

sudo apt-get install drapes
Two thumbs up! :)

Edit: And if there was a ++rep button, you'd get one from me... But either I completely fail tonight, or there truly isn't a 'reputation' system on this board. :-\
