I am trying to install ubuntu_server on vmware server 2.xx running on a winXp from a remote desktop connection.
I am using the ISO image in startup of the VM.
When I am on network detection stage (during which it warns that "this might take a long time") when the progress is at 23%, the remote desktop connection hangs and is then broken. Sometimes, I can reconnect after waiting 8 hours, other times my friend has to restart the machine.
When I'm finally reconnected, ubuntu won't be installed and I have to start over. And when I try to do installing again, same thing happens.
Any suggestions are really appreciated.
