Interesting.. IN the March 2006 issue of Linux magazine, they have a DVD with a version of the LinEx (http://www.linex.org) distro called "Extreme Gaming" Anyone installed this specific distro? I'm gonna attempt it tonight, and have it dual boot with Ubuntu.

What is the gist of this here "LinEx"?

Unfortunately, I do not read Portuguese... i.e. how is it gamer centric?

site linked is in Spanish, and seems to be the official linux distribution of the Extremadura regional government of Spain.

The point is that Linux Magazine has a version of it with 150 different games loaded by default...

Was wondering if anybody has installed it.

Finally got it installed, and I have to say this is a great distro for the gamer. As this is Gnome-based, it should be familiar to the average Ubuntu user.

I really liked the graphical installer, andd I have to say that some of the 150+ games on here that I can't run on Ubuntu for some reason (Like BZFlag) runs perfectly on here.

I have no plans on abandoning Ubuntu , but for gaming, I think I'm going to boot into Juega LinEx. I'll try finding a torrent for it a bit later, for those who may be interested in it.

Oh, I can't read a lick of Spanish, and I can get through the install / find the games.

You can try this torrent:

I am surprised to hear you have problems with BZFlag... It has always worked for me once I had my graphics driver installer and options set properly. In fact I wouldn't have changed to Kubuntu if BZFlag did not work...

Awesome!

I really like this distro. Pretty easy to setup, and the amount of gaming (serious stuff, Large gaming apps and small gaming apps) is beyond belief.

Yes, there are GOOD linux games, and this distro proves that.

Go to pclinuxos.com and check out SuperGamer-1.
It's a gaming DVD with lots of games and 3D drivers included on a DVD-image.
