I have a dual display setup currently. My 17" laptop is connected to a 24" monitor, the laptop has a nvidia geforce 9600m gt gpu. I have compiz effects enabled and im using the nvidia proprietary drivers.

However, i have set the laptops screen to be secondary and the 24" monitor to be primary (so i can get the menu and other stuff on the 24" monitor)... its connected via HDMI. Also note that the monitors resolution is 1920x1080 and the laptops screen res is 1440x900. Both output to 60Hz.

With vsync to vblank enabled in both CompizConfigSettingsManager & Nvidia X Server Settings i get no screen tearing on the laptops screen.
BUT i get a fast action (about two thick lines) of screen tear moving downwards from top to bottom on the 24inch monitor.

Let me restate that, as i move the window on the 24" monitor there are two thick lines that tear off the window and they move rapidly from the top to bottom.

Anyone know of a fix? Thanks!
