LTS vs. Normal releases in updates

Updates in the Software Sources allows one to choose the distribution releases to be either LTS releases only or Normal releases. It is defaulted to LTS releases. Will any ill effects occur if Normal releases are chosen?

No, in fact i have selected normal editions (karmic koala version) and the update manager shows also the LTS 10.04 one.
