Please tell me which definition of irony this situation evokes.

It's ironic because uTorrent is NOT available for Linux;Ubuntu. Definition number 2. Because they show you downloading Ubuntu 9.04, you would ASSUME that uTorrent would run on Ubuntu 9.04. It doesn't.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

Yes, there is a Mac version! Download it now! (http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/mac)
Linux users can run µTorrent with the latest version of Wine (http://www.winehq.org/).

well thats the first time I've ever seen a company suggest wine. :o

I wouldn't use it because it's non-free software. That said, I think some of the bit torrent clients for linux should implement a few of the more radically awesome features utorrent 3 has, mostly watching a video as you torrent it, which would normally be impossible due to the very nature of bit torrent. That's a really amazing feature that needs to be released into the public domain.

And the other seems to be the installer for Open Office. It's ironic also that the screenshooter is an open source junkie, and uTorrent is not open.

So, by the same reasoning, if I download OpenOffice with utorrent, it should mean that utorrent runs on OpenOffice or is available for it? Anyway, why would anyone care about utorrent not running on Linux?

Well it is the most voted feature request on uTorrent idea bank.

Irony or not, there is an uTorrent version for Linux being made as we speak.

Heresy! Linux is the only system anybody has ever used, surely? In fact I bet that when Linux Torvalds was writing the original version of the kernel, he was doing it on Linux.

You don't have to be "an open source junkie" to use Linux or Open Office. I'm not.

You would? Why?

I've downloaded ISOs with my phone. I wouldn't assume they would work on my phone...

Don't think I'll be bothered enough to even try it, if and when it's out.:P
