Since upgrading to Lucid my window controls are on the top left instead of the top right. I cant find any way to change it in appearances and all the alternative window examples in theme/customise/window border show them on the right.

Anyone know if this is a bug, or am I looking in the wrong place to change it?

Plus theres a Wine upgrade in update manager b ut it wont let me check the box to install it-it just stays there-anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

The windows buttons is not a bug. They moved it to the left to put something on the right.

This is fixed by using this guide -

As for your wine update problem, can you explain it a bit more.

Hi typos1.

It's not a bug. The default theme has the buttons on the left.

If you like your current theme, you can install

ubuntu tweak

After installing, click applications> system tools> window manager.

You can choose where you like the buttons.

Aternatively, you can change the theme, because two of them have the buttons on the right. (can't remember which ones).

I don't have an idea, about wine.

When I code "ubuntu tweak" in a terminal it says command not found.

I ll try the hack that Twitch6000 suggested.

I had a similar problem with Karmic for a while before I upgraded-an Mplayer update was permanently in the Update Manager window for several weeks but it wouldnt let me check the box and install it. Now I get the same prob with a WINE update plus a message saying that not all updates could be installed.

Maybe theres no WINE update for Lucid yet-I notice in Software Sources that only WINE support for Karmic is listed, no support for Lucid.

Ububntu tweak doesnt appear in software centre or synaptic package manager, why would this be? I ve got multiverse and universe selected in software sources as I had with Karmic and Jaunty.
