Greetings,

I have two questions and can not seem to figure it out even after several hours of reading.

I have a Power Mac (PowerPC) running OS 9.1. Model number M3098 made 12/26/96. It runs but but freezes on attempt to launch browser. So I want to install the correct version of Ubuntu for this system or any Linux release you may suggest as better. First where do I find it? And can I download it to my xp system and take the install disk to the Mac and install?

Thank you kindly for any help you may be able to give.

OldWorld Mac, very difficult to install Linux on such machines....unless you are prepared for some real pain.

My advise: read, read and read more. You need to know what you are doing...I did it a few times on a 7600, and it's very tough. It goes back to the times where you had to do things manually, if you know what I mean.
