suitable WYSIWYG web site makers ?

8-[ Hi ... I is new to Ubuntu and so far it is millions of light years better than Windows. But as I am a virgin err that is Ubuntu virgin newbie I need some inside feed. I have to make my own information only web sites cos I ain't got no money :frown: .

I do not want to bring in WYSIWYG DIY web site builder if there is a more suitable alternative. Having been a Windows numb skull it is going to take a little while to find things out but I need to get my web site up without coding. Can anyone help? I have just started trying Kompozer.

Any one have a better alternative to Firefox .. I think Google is stopping getting onto some web site like this forums site. I had to take off the google part of the address.

Anyone seen any lost brains wandering around .. could be mine #-o

Have you ever tried Internet Hosting services? I know you want to keep the cost down, but the cost for this type of service is very low. I have been with 1and1.com for about 12 years now, and I have been hosting and servicing three different websites, and it more then pays for my service. Plus I make about 2k a year for doing this.
They have some great online tools to develop websites, blogs, email account, and much more. I am not trying to sell anything but it is worth looking at. Here is a screen shot of some of their tools in the control panel: 163299

Try out Kompozer (it's in the repos) for a WYSIWYG-html-editor. It's quite FrontPage-like, and a nice way to learn html (do something in the WYSIWY-section, choose the html-fan and see what has changed.).

I am still like total newbie I have never been in a forum before I should have said WOW to each and all ... I never thought I would have go a response. This is thawing me out after decades of freezing the proverbials in the cold of a world of broken windows.

I am just not a code or language person ... strictly wysiwyg drag n drop dome head. Now give live bodies full of pain my research work since 1992 has resulted in pain eradication without surgery, drugs or products with a 90% success rate. I will change the world if certain profit makers like doctors and drug co's get hold of me first. Its going to be made available free if possible and at worst zero profit.

Another option is to run a Windows based application in Wine (http://www.winehq.org/about/).

Wine lets you run Windows software on other operating systems. With Wine, you can install and run these applications just like you would in Windows.

So if you already have something like Dreamweaver (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=183) or Expression Web (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=8105) or FrontPage (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=15) you can see if you can get it running under Wine.

Otherwise, for you chances are the listed programs (Kompozer and Amaya) may be a good choice.
