I hate to be nit-picky, but I think it's time for a little education.

MAC=Media Access Control (Address)
Mac = Macintosh (Computer)

So if you don't want to use a MAC, than you don't want your computer to be able to connect to a net using any current Ethernet or WiFi adapters.

MAC also means Mandatory Access Controls, like with Apparmor.

It's also a sandwich and a SMG (sub-machine gun).

I hate to be nit-picky, but Media access control is not an address.

People who say, "I hate to be nit picky," and then go on to pick nits don't hate being nit picky at all.

No, but network adapters have MAC addresses, so I thought it was a reasonable illustrative predicate.

BTW, I'm not being defensive here. You just gave me a good opening, to keep this thread going without using the B-word :lolflag:

In the local mall, the Apple store is right next to MAC. When people say they went to "the mac store", I resist the urge to punch them in the face.

Usually.

Yeah, it's really important that we don't use MAC where we mean Mac..... Who says context is dead? ;)
