I was having problems with using the ATI Catalyst Control Center and I assumed the wrong driver was installed. I ended up installing the Catalyst driver from the AMD-ATI website (a *.run file), when I rebooted all I got was a message from my monitor stating:
"The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing 1920x1080@60hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications"
Obviously I screwed up and now no driver is being loaded (or something).
Is it possible to install the video driver from the original installation disk, or a bootable USB drive, without reinstalling Ubuntu?
Note that any suggestion that doesn't incorporate me having a screen to look at first to see what is going on isn't too helpful!
I dread having to reinstall Ubuntu and writing over everything I've done so far. I have installed a lot of software and everything was the way I liked it (except the video driver)!
Thanks!
