Hello,

I am a C and Java developper mainly, and from Monday I will start working with C++, so I was wondering if you knew a nice e-book I could look online this week end, not to be perfect, but to be able to work next week :)

Also if you know a real nice book, not too expensive I may buy it too later (I have a really little one for perl and it's very nice, the one I have for C is so bad, and no it's not the holy one ;) ).

Thanks

You'll need to learn the c++ syntax, and the c++ "way of thinking". IMHO, the best online resource for the latter is probably the C++ faq lite (http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/). The former is rather easier to find in various online course (http://www.cs.rochester.edu/u/leblanc/csc173/review/CppPrimer.html)s, etc...

Cheers, Rick

Accelerated C++ (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/020170353X/sr=8-1/qid=1143808761/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-9229359-0092943?%5Fencoding=UTF8) is one of the best C++ learning books that follows the newer idioms.

Hello,

thank you for your answers I will look at the sites later, and at the book too.
I hope I won't need too much time ... Well 2 years ago I had a few C++ lessons, but I have not done a lot there, and I have forgotten it ..

Hello,

thanks for the link I will look at it later.
For now I only had a few problems (mainly calling .cpp instead of .h files).
The tough part is not C++ like I thought, it's physics and mathematics :(
