My Asus Eee PC 1000H originally came with Windows XP. I have done a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition. The entire install process is a cinch. My 1000H is not only working well, it looks really good too.
Asus offers a set of source code for 1000H Linux. The download is over 2 GB (epc.1.6.1.src.tgz). Asus offers no clear description of the content. I presume the package contains Eee PC specific drivers. Some soft-key combos are not working in Ubuntu. This package might be able to address similar issues. Has anyone had any experience with running Ubuntu on Eee PC 1000H using this package from Asus? I would need your advice what the file is and how to deploy them in Ubuntu 10.04. Thanks.
