Hi, I was wondering what method people prefer to use when choosing between windows e.g. using a dock or gnome panel. I use both a dock (cairo dock) and the dockbarx gnome panel applet (the default winow list takes too much space. Also do you hav your gnome panel at the top and another at the bottom for you windows (the default configuration) or do you like to combine the two?

P.s it wont let me add a poll for some reason...

i prefer scale plug-in of compiz.
For example with those windows (http://tinypic.com/r/wmifm9/4) open, i touch the bottom-right corner of my screen with my cursor and i choose (http://tinypic.com/r/9bdamu/4) !

Moved to the Cafe, as this really isn't a support question.

alt+tab for other windows... ctrl+tab for same window... keyboards faster if your hands are already on it.

If you mean a workspace switcher , I add it only when needed from AWN on the bottom or the the Gnome panel on top .

In windows, I use a combination of Alt-Tab and the Taskbar.

In Linux, I use the cairo dock mostly because I haven't found a good dock/panel solution that suits me, so I keep changing my docks and panels in the quest of finding something that isn't ugly and displays the list of running programs in a non-confusing way.

For now I'm using AWN with dockbarx applet.

I use the expo plugin in KWin and Metacity.
I often switch between windows by switching between workspaces (F1-F4) since all the windows are spread out (unless I have many windows). In fact when I used fluxbox I hid the taskbar and rarely used it - I always knew where my windows are and just workspace-switch-and-alt-tabbed to them. I tend to do it a lot in KDE, too.

scale addon as well for me. entire bottom of screen with left click activates it. right click on a window closes the window.

Alt-tab, fastest in the west. Second might be the gnome shell overlay with the meta key.

+1 Bottom right for me too. But sometimes I find my fingers automatically doing alt-tab. I guess old habits don't go fast.
