So I have 2 hard-drives.

Hard-drive A: Is a 12gb (i know), with Windows XP installed on it.
Hard-drive B: Is an 80gb, with no OS files, storing only personal data. It has 32GB remaining.

I would like to install Ubuntu on drive B, while retaining all of my stored data.

I have no idea how to do this, 10.04 on cd, both Home and Server, and would like to be able to transfer files from drive A to drive B after the installation. I can do this beforehand however if I really need to.

Also, when I restart my computer with the Ubuntu CD in my tray... it shows a purple screen with a keyboard and human symbol... flashes green, and my computer sleeps.

Actually, I would like to install Ubuntu on drive A, replacing my windows installation, all of my data is now stored on drive B.

I would like to replace drive A's windows installation, and run Ubuntu exclusively. While being able to read data from my B drive.

I booted using F6 > vga=317 on install...
Unfortunately, the install pauses at 78% no mater which drive it is installed on.
