View Full Version : [ubuntu] won't let me upgrade

i'm currently using ubuntu 9.10, and i'm trying to upgrade to 10.04, but, when i get to a certain spot, it says
The upgrade is now aborted. Please check your Internet connection or installation media and try again. All files downloaded so far are kept

Failed to fetch http://76.73.4.58/ubuntu/pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-plugins_0.8.4-0ubuntu15_i386.deb Hash Sum mismatch

Have you tried changing Servers from Sys>Admin>Software Sources?

It's always best to do a clean install though.

Do you Have a clean hard drive? Do you have it partioned? It probably won't let you up grade because the internet is crowded at the time you want to upgrade. Get a cd with the version you want, Back up everything, Clonezilla works well.Clean the drive off forrmat. install the cd in computer and up grade that way , over the internet sucks if ya don't have a t1 line the up grade will be full of bugs. Cd's are cheap to buy with any version on them and no delays when installing linux from them.;)
