I have installed ubuntu on a flash drive from a cd using Snow Leopard, windows xp, and even booting from the ubuntu cd, and i keep running into the same issue: i can't boot from it.

I have an i5 Macbook Pro and use refit. The flashdrive wasnt recognized as ubuntu 10.04, but instead called "Legacy OS" and when I select it my computer boots from my windows partition.

When I hold alt/option at startup, the drive isnt even recognized.

Please help. I have used multiple operating systems for installtion, multiple usb drives, and have literally installed ubuntu on flash drives 20 times. The version I downloaded and burned to the cd is the 32-bit .iso version straight from the ubuntu website, if that helps at all.
